State Sovereignty & Individual Rights

From history, our founding fathers recognized the danger inherent in a powerful centralized government.  They sought to limit the power of the federal government and preserved the power of the states in the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

The Tenth Amendment reads: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

I recognize the sovereignty of states and encourage state governments to use the power of the Tenth Amendment to rein in the overreaching federal government.
