Agriculture is a bedrock industry in America, especially in Kentucky. Farmers are the best example of American innovation, entrepreneurship, and stewardship of resources. They not only feed America, they feed the world. The EPA, FDA, USDA, and even the DEA are over regulating the agriculture industry and placing an undue burden on small farms and food processors. Our family farms are at risk and their free-market rights must be protected. The era of federal farm subsidies has led to government attempts regulate farm dust, tax bovine flatulence, and track private livestock with radio frequency ID tags. As the owner of a small cow-calf operation and as a direct marketer of grass-fed beef to consumers, I am opposed to the unconstitutional activities of the federal government on America’s farms.
